answer text <p>Data on the sex of people reporting potential COVID-19 symptoms to the National Health Service 111 and 999 telephone services and 111 online is collected through the NHS Pathways Coronavirus (COVID-19) Dashboard. This provides a count of the number of assessments, rather than the number of people reporting symptoms. Further information is available on the GOV.UK website at the following link:</p><p><a href="https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/" target="_blank">https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/</a></p><p>The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is responsible for publishing mortality statistics for deaths registered in England and Wales. They publish provisional weekly deaths registrations, including deaths involving COVID-19, which are currently published for deaths registered up to 1 May 2020 and include breakdown by sex.
