<p>The UK is committed to supporting efforts to end female genital mutilation both in the UK and across the globe. We welcome the passing of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Bill and its ban on female genital mutilation in Nigeria. DFID will work closely with the new Government on the implementation of this Bill. DFID is also supporting implementation at both federal and state levels.</p>
