answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/04/2019 answer text <p>Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are currently available for schools and other education providers in the UK to purchase through the NHS Supply Chain at a reduced cost. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/04/2019 answer text <p>The 2015 Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice sets out high expectations of schools, alternative provision, and colleges about how they identify and meet the needs of pupils with SEND, including those with speech, language and communication needs. The Code emphasises that schools, including alternative provision, should work closely with their local authority and other providers to commission specialist services directly, such as speech and language therapists.</p><p> </p><p>The department does not collect data on which pupil referral units employ speech and language therapists. Commissioners of alternative provision should ensure that there is a clear plan for pupils’ progression and keep the arrangements under regular review so that they can be adapted in response to the needs of the child or young person. We are in the final year of a multi-year settlement deal – worth over £200 billion in the 5 years to 2020. Core spending power increased from £45.1 billion in 2018-19 to £46.4 billion in 2019-20.</p><p>At the Autumn Budget 2018, the government made £410 million available to local authorities, in 2019-20, for adult and children's social care. As of 1 March 2019, there are 443 free schools open across the country, which will provide over 250,000 places at capacity.</p><p> </p><p>The department &amp; LocatED are responsible for acquiring the land and buildings required to establish these schools, ensuring that they are located in appropriate and safe surroundings, are a good fit with the school’s educational aims and offer good value for money.</p><p> </p><p>In most cases, land and buildings are acquired on a freehold or peppercorn lease, however, for some schools; particularly those involving the use of temporary accommodation, the department may enter into a commercial lease. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/03/2019 answer text <p>Over the five-year period to 2019-20, councils have access, through the Local Government Finance Settlement, to over £200 billion to deliver local services, including children’s services. Core spending power has increased from £45.1 billion in 2018-19 to £46.4 billion in 2019-20. For Sunderland, this means an increase in core spending power of £235 million in 2018-19 to £239 million in 2019-20.</p><p>In addition to this, the Autumn Budget announced a further £410 million in 2019-20 for local authorities to invest in adult and children’s social care services.</p><p>The Department for Education (DfE) made an investment of £2.4 million towards the creation of Together for Children (TfC), the company responsible for delivering children’s services in Sunderland, which has started to make an impact on improving children’s services.
