This also includes batches 4120Z001, 4120Z002 and 4120Z003. Decisions on which vaccines EU Member States will accept at their borders is for those countries to decide. All SII-made doses approved by the United Kingdom (UK) regulator, the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and administered in the UK were branded as the ’COVID-19 vaccine AstraZeneca’ which is now known commercially as ‘Vaxzevria’.</p><p> </p><p>The government continues to liaise with counterparts in Italy and we are seeking Italian confirmation that they will recognise all AstraZeneca doses administered in the UK. The European Medicines Agency has authorised the Vaxzevria vaccine and as a result is recognised by the European Union.</p><p>The EU recently set out their Green Pass initiative for double vaccinated EU citizens and the minimum criteria for the vaccines Member States should accept. This includes the University of Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine and all our other currently deployed vaccines. This includes those studying abroad next academic year. Students aged 18 years old and over are prioritised on grounds of age in phase two of the COVID-19 vaccine programme if they have not been vaccinated as part of phase one. Phase two offers vaccination to all those aged 18 to 49 years old unless they fall into a higher cohort group due to age or pre-existing health condition which puts them in phase one.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is working closely with the devolved administrations, the higher education sector and health services across the United Kingdom to ensure that all students are able to access the vaccine efficiently and conveniently where they are eligible. The Government advises those who may be unable to receive a full course of vaccination in the UK to notify clinicians of this before they receive their vaccination.
