answer text <p>Before placing a child, local authorities are required to draw up a placement plan detailing how the placement is intended to contribute to meeting the child’s needs. As set out in Volume 2 of the Children Act 1989 Guidance, an effective placement plan will provide the carer with essential information about the child, including their emotional and educational needs, how these may affect the child’s daily routine and strategies for responding to them. The placement plan helps the carer to support the child in their new home and can reduce the likelihood of placement breakdown.</p> more like this
