UK steel plays a critical role in the economy as a foundation industry and the Government remains committed to the UK steel industry and a decarbonised future, supporting local economic growth and our levelling-up agenda. The Industrial Decarbonisation Strategy, published on 17 March, commits to work with the newly constituted Steel Council to consider the implications of the recommendation of the Climate Change Committee to ‘set targets for ore-based steelmaking to reach near-zero emissions by 2035’. Hydrogen-based steelmaking is one of the technological approaches being examined as part of this process.</p><p> </p><p>The Steel Council offers the forum for Government, industry and trade unions to work in partnership on the shared objective of creating an achievable, long-term plan to support the sector’s transition to a competitive, sustainable and low carbon future. In order to support these efforts, the Government has announced a £250 million Clean Steel Fund to support the UK steel sector to transition to lower carbon iron and steel production, through investment in new technologies and processes. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/05/2021 answer text <p>The Medicines Healthcare and Regulatory products Regulatory Authority’s guidance on the authorisation of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine, last updated on 15 April, provides advice on the authorisation conditions of the vaccine. Its contra-indications advice states that people who experienced blood clots with low platelet counts after their first AstraZeneca dose should not receive their second dose.</p><p> </p><p>Mixing vaccines is not advised at this time, as evidence on the effects of mixing a two-dose schedule of vaccines is still emerging. Subsequently offering a two-dose schedule of a different vaccine to patients who experienced such blood clots is not advised as the effects of adding such a schedule are unknown. We have clear plans in place with Pfizer to ensure sufficient supply of the vaccine throughout 2021 and to prevent any shortages. There has been a regular and steady supply of vaccine doses arriving into the United Kingdom since early December and we have sufficient doses to maintain our vaccination programme as it continues to accelerate, working closely with Pfizer to ensure vaccines keep arriving into the UK.</p><p> </p><p>We have sufficient vaccines available to administer second doses for Moderna, Pfizer and AstraZeneca, in line with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency and the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunization) guidance. The decision to offer second doses from 8 weeks for cohorts 1 – 9 factored in that there was sufficient supply to honour the plan.
