answer text <p>On 24 July 2018, Government published “Strengthened Local Enterprise Partnerships” which sets out how Government and LEPs will work together to strengthen leadership and capability, improve accountability and manage risk, and provide clarity on geography.</p><p>Of the £3.4bn of Local Growth Funding that has gone to the Northern Powerhouse, £505.6m has been allocated by the North East and Tees Valley LEPs.</p><p>LEPs will also play a vital collaborative role in the successful delivery of £3.6bn Towns Fund- seven places in the wider North East have been named among the initial 100 places to benefit from this fund, including Bishop Auckland in County Durham.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Government’s priority is to have effective regulatory systems. Where an EU regulatory function is repatriated then in most cases this will be undertaken by an existing regulatory body. The National Audit Office considers that there are 90 regulators operating in the UK. ‘Managing Public Money’ sets out when fees and charges may be levied by a public body for a function, or whether a function can be Exchequer-funded. Where legislation is required to repatriate functions, further information may be found in the relevant impact assessment or explanatory memorandum.</p> more like this

Different goods are regulated in different ways, in part reflecting the different levels of risk they pose to consumers and the environment.
