<p>Time spent in temporary accommodation means people are getting help and means people
have a roof over their head.</p><p>MHCLG publishes regular statistics on rough sleeping,
statutory homelessness, temporary accommodation and homelessness prevention and relief.
These are published at national, London and local authority level. The latest statistics
can be found at: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/homelessness-statistics"
target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/homelessness-statistics</a>.</p><p>The
Department doesn’t currently hold data on the numbers of people who have been temporarily
housed in bed and breakfast accommodation by age cohort.</p><p>We are, however, overhauling
the statutory homelessness data collection alongside the introduction of the Homelessness
Reduction Act, and the data you have requested will be collected from April 2018.</p>
