<p>Although there is no centralised target, Homes England works closely with local
authorities - who best understand local needs and planning priorities - and providers,
to encourage them to bring forward housing schemes that support the housing needs
of those with disabilities and other vulnerable people, including disability-accessible
bungalows and other accessible or supported housing.</p><p>We have been clear that
providing safe and suitable homes for vulnerable people is a Government priority.
The Government Housing White Paper <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/590464/Fixing_our_broken_housing_market_-_print_ready_version.pdf"
target="_blank">'Fixing Our Broken Housing Market'</a> published in February 2017,
set out the Government’s policy on increasing housing supply, and the ways in which
the planning system will be used to deliver more suitable homes for people with disabilities.</p>
