answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/02/2018 answer text <p>The 2018-19 local government finance settlement confirms that Wolverhampton will have access to £221.4 million in Core Spending Power - an increase of 1.8 per cent from 2017-18. Wolverhampton has core spending power per dwelling of £2,029 compared to an average for Metropolitan Districts of £1,786. Currently, the private parking industry operates under a system of self-regulation.</p><p>Sir Greg Knight has introduced a Private Members’ Bill that seeks to create an independent code of practice for private parking companies. However, recognising the pressures on local services and impact of inflation, the Local Government Finance Settlement provided all councils with the ability to increase their council tax by an additional one per cent, without a local referendum. Every statutory finance officer within each council must make their own determination whether to act to restrain unaffordable spending if they deem the situation requires it.</p><p>However, the Department constantly reviews the challenges facing the sector and individual authorities.
