answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/10/2019 answer text <p>Most National Health Service funded counselling services for obsessive compulsive disorder are commissioned by clinical commissioning groups and delivered through the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme through a variety of providers.</p><p>The Department along with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) are conducting a review of regulated activities and will be considering the regulation of psychological therapy services as part of this review. Psychological therapies services are not currently inspected unless they are provided within secondary mental health services and meet CQC criteria. We are looking to consult any proposals from this review in 2020.</p><p>The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence published a clinical guideline on the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder and body dysmorphic disorder (CG31) in November 2005. In 2018/19 income from fee-generating activities was £124.0 million and income from the sponsoring the Department was £34.6 million. The Agency’s income from trading activities has reduced compared to previous years as a result of the United Kingdom preparations to exit the European Union, which has led to a reduction in revenue from centralised (European Medical Agency-managed) as well as decentralised (EU-member states led) licence applications.</p><p>In addition, the MHRA is incurring costs to prepare for ‘no deal’ and transition to a stand-alone regulator. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/10/2019 answer text <p>Although overall trends since 2010 show a decline in numbers of mental health nurses, recent years have seen numbers begin to improve. As of June 2019, there are now 36,101 mental health nurses – 776 more than in June 2017.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has carried out work to increase the nursing workforce, such as expanding the number of nurse training places and introducing nurse degree apprentices and nursing associate apprentices.</p><p> </p><p>The National Health Service has also put in place national programmes focused on improving staff retention, return to practice, overseas recruitment and improving sickness absence.</p><p> </p><p>The interim NHS People Plan recognises that there is a shortage of nurses, especially mental health nurses, and sets out immediate actions to reduce vacancies and secure the nursing staff we need for the future. This includes addressing pensions tax concerns and bolstering the workforce through greater international recruitment. Meditation for promoting mental health and wellbeing was considered during the development of the guideline. However, the guideline committee considered the evidence insufficient to support any specific recommendations on meditation.</p><p>NICE also published a guideline on physical health of people in prison (NG57) in November 2016, which made recommendations on the promotion of prisoners’ health and wellbeing.
