DfT forecasts are that by 2026, a typical fully electric car will cost the same to lease and operate as an equivalent petrol car, once lower running costs are considered. Any instances of industrial action are for Gatwick to manage with their airlines, ground handlers and other organisations.</p><p> </p><p>A number of strikes were announced over the summer by ground handlers and service providers for passengers with reduced mobility at Gatwick. As of 1 July 2023, there were 44,020 public charging devices in the UK, according to data supplied by Zapmap. The JZC is co-chaired by the Secretaries of State for Transport, Business and Trade and Energy Security and Net Zero with industry members including British Airways.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is investing a record £685 million over three years into R&amp;D in the UK aerospace sector through the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) programme.
