These include but are not limited to:</p><ul><li>the type of chargepoint installed,</li><li>the requirement of upgrades to the electricity system,</li><li>labor costs in the area.</li></ul><p>Given these factors, an average cost of installation may not be representative of an individual cost of installation.</p><p>In May 2022, Ricardo Energy &amp; Environment published a report, commissioned by the Climate Change Committee, looking at costs and impacts of on-street charging. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/02/2023 answer text <p>Grants to reduce the upfront purchase price of electric vehicles (EVs) have been in place for over a decade and continue to support the purchase of plug-in vans, taxis, trucks, motorbikes and wheelchair accessible vehicles. In addition, the Government offers grants to offset the cost of EV chargepoints in flats and rental accommodation, as well as businesses.</p><p> </p><p>The UK EV Charging Infrastructure Strategy (published 25 March 2022) sets out the Government’s vision and commitments to make EV charging cheaper and more convenient than refuelling at a petrol station. Whilst it is expected that the majority of EV drivers will continue to charge at home, the Government will continue to work with local authorities and the private sector to ensure that public chargepoints are in place to support consumers without off-street parking and to enable long distance journeys.</p><p> </p><p>The Government intends to lay legislation in the coming months to improve the consumer experience when using public chargepoints in the UK. In addition to taking steps such as providing an inclusive and accessible recruitment process, the Department provides leadership in supporting the scheme, reports on disability, mental health and wellbeing and has undergone a rigorous validation process. It is possible, but unlikely, that some spend has occurred that has not been declared by suppliers, although the Department’s internal finance system does not record data in such a way that allows this to be cross-checked. These totals are inclusive of recruitment to the Department for Transport and its Executive Agencies (DVSA, DVLA, MCA, VCA and ATE) and for both senior civil service (SCS) and delegated grade recruitment. The figure for 20/21 was higher than expected due to a higher volume of recruitment targeted at individuals with specialist/hard to recruit skills.
