We continue to urge China to respect all fundamental rights across the People's Republic of China, including in Tibet, in line with both its own constitution and the international frameworks to which it is a party. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/09/2022 answer text <p>While most countries have now relaxed Covid restrictions, China continues to operate a &quot;zero-Covid policy&quot; across the whole country which frequently results in large scale lockdowns in response to relatively low numbers of cases.</p><p>More broadly, we continue to monitor the ongoing human rights violations in Xinjiang. In response the UK has led international efforts to pressure China to change its behaviour. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/09/2022 answer text <p>The UK condemns the widespread violence and conflict across Myanmar, which has resulted in a major humanitarian crisis. We call on the military to exercise restraint and respect international law. We continue to work with international partners, including at the UN, G7 and ASEAN, to try to bring an end to the crisis. The UK has imposed targeted and coordinated sanctions and is working with international partners to tackle the flow of arms to Myanmar. We have also used our leadership role in the UN and G7 to secure strong statements condemning the crisis.</p><p>The UK opposes the use of the death penalty across the world and advocates its abolition. The Foreign Secretary carefully considered the Bermuda Cannabis Licensing Bill 2022 and concluded that it is contrary to the UK's and Bermuda's obligations under the UN Conventions, which prohibit the legalisation of cannabis for recreational use. The UK is responsible for the Overseas Territories' compliance with international law, and assent was not therefore given.
