answer text <p>UK road traffic legislation applies to everyone who use our roads irrespective of where the vehicle is registered.</p><p> </p><p>It is for the Police to decide what action to take against foreign drivers detected committing criminal traffic offences. This may include impounding.</p><p> </p><p>For traffic offences subject to civil enforcement, persistent evaders found in contravention may have their vehicles immobilised or removed. The Scottish Government have announced that, although full integration of the British Transport Police into Police Scotland remains the long-term ambition, other options are now being explored. answer text <p>Technical standards for noise for new cars are set at an International level by both the European Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. Under these technical regulations the noise limits for new models of passenger car were reduced by 2 decibels in 2016, and will be further reduced by 2 decibels in 2020 and again in 2024.</p><p> </p><p>Once a car is in service, UK regulations require exhausts and silencers to be maintained in good working order and not altered so as to increase noise.</p><p> </p><p>The Department for Transport has commissioned research into enforcement measures and technologies with the potential to combat excessive noise from road vehicles.</p><p><strong> </strong></p> more like this

answer text <p>Highways England have undertaken an in-depth safety review of the A34 to identify incident ‘hot spots’ and to establish their causes.</p><p>They have made their recommendations to the Department of Transport on a package of safety improvements for the A34. The improvements remain on track for the start of works in 2019/20. As with all such schemes, the package remains subject to a positive value for money assessment at the end of the development process, before the start of construction.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Department for Transport and Highways England have been considering how best to take forward the A12 scheme, in the light of concerns raised by the Planning Inspector in June 2018 regarding the proposed Garden Community at Marks Tey and its interaction with the A12 scheme.</p><p>Highways England have been working closely with Essex County Council and the North Essex authorities to find the best approach to delivering the A12 scheme that takes account of wider growth in the region and achieves value for money. It is important that the Department find a way to take forward this important transport scheme while also supporting the Government’s objectives to improve the supply of housing where it is needed most.</p> more like this
