answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/11/2018 answer text <p>The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) supervises the MOT scheme on behalf of the Department. The DVSA authorises testers to conduct MOTs. All testers undergo strict training to become an authorised tester, and must pass an annual assessment to retain that authorised status.</p><p> </p><p>The DVSA uses data analysis, intelligence and inspection visits to carry out targeted checks on garages and testers to ensure testing is conducted in accordance with the MOT inspection manual.</p><p> </p><p>The DVSA ensures that MOT tests are conducted to a satisfactory standard by observing MOT tests, mystery shopper exercises, re-inspecting recently tested vehicles and surveillance operations.</p><p><strong> </strong></p> answering member constituency Hereford and South Herefordshire answering member printed Jesse Norman question first answered 16/11/2018 13:33:27 answering member 3991 label Biography information for Jesse Norman

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/11/2018 answer text <p>The Department's consultation, “E10 petrol, consumer protection and fuel pump labelling”, included a call for evidence inviting stakeholders to contribute ideas on whether and how E10 could be introduced in a way which maximises the benefits of that fuel and ensures consumers are protected.</p><p> </p><p>The Department is carefully considering the responses submitted, including proposals for a mandate or scrappage scheme, and will respond to the call for evidence in due course. The information gathered in the call for evidence will help the Department to ensure that decision making on this important policy area is robust. The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) deals with around 750,000 medical cases each year and aims to complete 90% within 90 working days. The length of time taken to deal with an application following a driving licence being revoked depends on the medical condition involved and whether further information is needed from medical professionals. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/11/2018 answer text <p>The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) deals with more than 750,000 medical cases every year. There is a dedicated team in place which is responsible for the continuous improvement of all medical driver licensing services and communications. Letters to customers and medical professionals have been improved, helping to ensure that the DVLA receives the information it needs as quickly as possible.</p><p> </p><p>The DVLA has recruited additional staff to process medical applications and notifications, to make licensing decisions quicker.
