Typically installations on domestic properties will be less than 4 kiloWatts in capacity, and those on small businesses between 4 and 50 kiloWatts in capacity. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/09/2016 answer text <p>The Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has not received any requests for documents submitted to the European Commission for State aid clearance with regard to plans to support radioactive waste and decommissioning proposals for new nuclear power stations.</p><p>The former Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) received one such request in the last 12 months. The request asked for “the main document setting out the United Kingdom justification for state aid clearance, along with a full list of the titles of all support documents, submitted to the European Commission, in respect of the European Commission consideration of the pricing methodology for waste transfer contracts to be concluded between the UK Government and operators of new nuclear power plants and its compatibility with EU state aid rules, on which the Commission reported its conclusions on 9 October 2015”.</p><p>In its response DECC confirmed that it did hold the information requested but was withholding it as the information fell within the scope of the exception set out in regulation 12(5)(a) of the Environmental Information Regulations and that the public interest lay in withholding the information.</p> answering member constituency Hereford and South Herefordshire answering member printed Jesse Norman question first answered 19/09/2016 09:41:14 answering member 3991 label Biography information for Jesse Norman

Friend the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, met with members of the senior teams from the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and Sellafield Limited to discuss the challenges of decommissioning the Sellafield site safely and securely. The ONR operates in line with international standards and the requirements set by the International Atomic Energy Authority (IAEA).</p><p>The ONR operates transparently and provides its assessment of standards at nuclear sites in its Annual Report and Accounts, which is laid in Parliament every year. In the latest report, the Chief Nuclear Inspector concluded that nuclear sites have satisfactorily achieved high standards of safety and security, thereby protecting the workforce and the public from harm.</p><p>The ONR’s Annual Report and Account sets out in some detail the ONR’s regulatory strategy at Sellafield, which is designed to enable Sellafield Limited to deliver its remediation programmes to reduce hazard and risk on the site, with a particular focus on accelerating safe and secure retrievals from the legacy ponds and silos. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/09/2016 answer text <p>The Government recently consulted on proposals to increase the amount that energy companies pay to fund household energy efficiency improvements for low income and vulnerable households to £450m by 2017 and up to £640m by 2018.</p><p> </p><p>Energy companies are also required to provide over 2 million low income and vulnerable households with a £140 rebate off their energy bill each winter, under the Warm Home Discount Scheme.</p><p> </p><p>These proposals combined will see up to £1bn of support for low income and vulnerable households each year from 2018.</p><p> </p><p>If suppliers believe a domestic customer is having difficulty paying all or part of their energy bills, they must offer facilities to make payments by: deductions direct from benefits, known as Fuel Direct; regular instalments paid through a means other than a prepayment meter; or, using a prepayment meter, where it is safe and reasonably practicable for the customer to do so.</p><p> </p><p>It is important that customers who are experiencing difficulties in paying their gas or electricity bills contact their supplier as soon as possible to arrange a repayment plan that suits their needs.</p><p> </p> answering member constituency Hereford and South Herefordshire answering member printed Jesse Norman question first answered 27/09/2016 10:27:13 answering member 3991 label Biography information for Jesse Norman
