answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/05/2018 answer text <p>The Government’s statutory Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy, published in April 2017, outlines £1.2 billion of funding that may be invested in cycling and walking in England over the period to 2021. Funding for cycling infrastructure in the rest of the UK is a matter for the devolved administrations. Since the Strategy’s publication, the Government has made further support available for cycling and walking infrastructure in England, through the National Productivity Investment Fund, Transforming Cities Fund and Clean Air Fund. Decisions on allocating funding for dedicated cycle networks are for local authorities, who allocate and/or bid for funding alongside other local priorities. In addition, the Department for Transport is providing 44 local authorities in England with access to expert support to assist in the development of ten-year Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/05/2018 answer text <p>In addition to a share of the formula distribution of the National Productivity Investment Fund (NPIF) in 2017/18 of £626,000, plus Integrated Transport Block funding for £1.57m in 2017/18 and 2018/19, all of which could be used for projects to ease congestion, the City of York Council was awarded a further £2.845m in October 2017 through a competition for NPIF funding.</p><p> </p><p>The NPIF project in York, the Smart Travel Evolution Programme (STEP) will provide a city-wide digital platform supporting transport data collection and analysis, real-time transport modelling and travel information. In order to achieve this, we have said we will end the sale of new conventional petrol and diesel cars and vans by 2040. Our ambition is supported by one of the most comprehensive packages of support in the world for ultra low emission vehicles, and we have one of the biggest markets in Europe for ultra low emission vehicles. Meeting the 2040 commitment should be industry-led, with Government monitoring developments closely. Against a rapidly evolving international context, we will seek to maintain ambitious targets and our leadership position, intervening firmly if not enough progress is being made. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/05/2018 answer text <p>The car practical driving test is continually reviewed, and Management Information data is collated and analysed to assess the effectiveness and safety of all elements of the test, including the new satellite navigation element.</p><p> </p><p>The DVSA has established strict processes and procedures in place to record all incidents and analyse contributing factors and, if required, take remedial action. The car practical test risk assessment, which covers the satellite navigation element, is reviewed as part of every incident investigation.</p><p> </p><p>The DVSA is also seeking to understand how the new driving test has shaped candidates’ experiences of learning to drive and their feelings towards driving and driver safety. An questionnaire was produced in January and February, which asked questions about the time spent practising for the driving test, and candidates’ experience of the new driving test and their views on driving.
