answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/07/2017 answer text <p>Highways England is working hard to deliver the improvements set out in the Roads Investment Strategy and in Highways England’s Delivery Plan as quickly as possible. In the Yorkshire and North East region a number of schemes will be delivered on the A1 and the A19.</p><p><br>Highways England is currently undertaking advanced surveys to inform and accelerate the development of these schemes where possible. These surveys include ecology, ground investigation, topographical and drainage surveys. DfT and HM Treasury officials are working with Nexus to understand the business case for the replacement of the current fleet and exploring various funding options.</p><p> </p><p>The Department for Transport continues to support the Metro by providing £317m through the 10 year Asset Renewal Programme to 2021 which delivers significant investment in infrastructure, stations and rolling stock. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/07/2017 answer text <p>The £1.2 billion referred to in the Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy press release confirmed the amount of existing Government funding that is available to be invested in cycling and walking over the five year period from 2016/17 to 2020/21. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/07/2017 answer text <p>The Government is upgrading the M62 between Leeds and Manchester to a 4 lane smart motorway to reduce congestion and improve journeys. This is part of the current £15 billion investment in England’s motorways and major ‘A’ roads. The section from Junctions 18 to 20 is expected to complete later this year. Work on the Junctions 20 to 25 section is anticipated to start in 2019/20.
