The meeting was constructive and we will continue to work closely with the Council leading up to their submission of a final business case in 2020. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/10/2018 answer text <p>Horse riders are already protected in law with applicable offences for drivers such as driving dangerously, driving without due care and attention and driving without reasonable consideration for other road users.</p><p> </p><p>This is set out in the Highway Code along with advice on being aware of horse riders and allowing adequate distance when passing them. The Government recognises that it is important for the needs of all passengers, including those with less obvious disabilities such as hearing loss, to be addressed by airports. The release of DVLA’s data is subject to a formal assessment to ensure that there are adequate policies, procedures and technical controls in place to protect it. Data Protection Impact Assessments are completed to identify and address any privacy risks and ensure that personal data is only processed in compliance with the law.</p><p> </p><p>Recipients of vehicle keeper information must handle the data in accordance with clear terms and conditions. Where recipients pass the information onto another company, there must be a formal contract in place to provide assurance over the use and security of the data. The original recipient retains overall responsibility for the use of the data by its sub-contractors.</p><p> </p><p>The DVLA carries out its own comprehensive audits, involving both remote and on-site audits in conjunction with the Government Internal Audit Agency. This helps to ensure that information provided by the DVLA is used only in accordance with its terms and conditions. More widely, in June the Government announced its intention to deliver a more strategic approach to preventing deaths and serious injuries on our roads. The primary focus in the short term is on bringing forward compliance with legal limits for NO<sub>2</sub> concentrations, and stakeholders from seven departments take part in the coordinated implementation and governance of the NO<sub>2 </sub>Plan. The principle cause of these emissions is transport, and that is why the Defra-DfT Joint Air Quality Unit continues to lead this work.
