answer text <p>The Government has always been clear that any scheme for additional airport capacity should be financed by the private sector. The Airports Commission concluded that all three of its shortlisted schemes were financeable without public support.</p><p> </p><p>As set out in the revised draft Airports National Policy Statement, independent financial advisers have undertaken further work for the Government, and agree that all three schemes are financeable without on that basis.</p><p> </p><p>Heathrow Airport Limited would also pay in full the cost of any surface access required for airport expansion. Where there is a surface access scheme that is not solely required to deliver airport capacity and that has a wider range of beneficiaries the Government, along with relevant stakeholders, will consider the need for a public contribution alongside an appropriate contribution from the airport on a case-by-case basis.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The current Blue Badge service contract will end on 31<sup>st</sup> December 2018. The Department commissioned work in May 2017 to look at replacing and improving the current service. The detail of the online application process for the new, replacement service will be tested with users, including organisations, and driven by their needs.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency’s (DVLA) service standards are the same for both English and Welsh languages. All driving licence forms in either Welsh or English are available to order online via the GOV.UK website. The forms can also be ordered by telephoning the DVLA’s contact centre. Forms are issued within seven to 10 days of the DVLA receiving the request. The Welsh language version of the D1 driving licence application form is also available at some Post Offices in Wales.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Ministers and officials have met regularly with Heathrow Airport Limited (HAL) since 2 February 2017 to discuss a wide range of issues relating to the operation of the UK’s largest airport, as well as the potential delivery of its expansion. When Ministers and officials meet with HAL to discuss expansion, these meetings are governed by propriety arrangements set out in the Statement of Approach, which is published online:</p><p> </p><p><a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/653867/engaging-with-stakeholders-statement-of-approach-revised-draft-airports-nps.pdf" target="_blank">https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/653867/engaging-with-stakeholders-statement-of-approach-revised-draft-airports-nps.pdf</a>.</p><p> </p><p>The Government launched a public consultation on the draft Airports NPS on 2 February 2017. This initial consultation closed on 25 May, and a further consultation on the revised draft Airports NPS was launched on 24 October 2017, closing on 19 December. A TSC report on the content of the Airports NPS was subsequently published on 23 March 2018.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is now in the process of considering the responses to both consultations as well as the TSC’s recommendations contained within their final report.</p>

answer text <p>The length of time taken to deal with an application depends on the medical condition and whether further information is required from medical professionals, such as a driver’s GP. In the financial year 2017/18, it took an average of 32 days to make a decision on a medical case, down from 37 days in the previous financial year.</p><p> </p><p>The DVLA has made major improvements in the length of time taken to deal with medical cases. In the last year, additional doctors have been recruited, taking the number employed from 22 to 35. In addition, ten nurses and additional casework staff have also been recruited to deal with the complex medical casework.</p><p> </p><p>In the last year the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) dealt with over 750,000 medical cases. It is not possible to provide the number of cases requiring medical investigation, with more than 14,000 cases being received each week.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Drivers who have had a pacemaker implanted must notify the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). This is to ensure that the DVLA can investigate the condition that led to the need for a pacemaker. Most drivers retain their licences where a pacemaker has been fitted and the causative condition is being effectively controlled.</p><p> </p><p>In cases where driving entitlement has been revoked after a pacemaker is fitted, the driver will need to apply for the return of their licence when the causative condition has been brought under control.</p><p> </p><p>The DVLA dealt with over 750,000 medical licensing cases in the last year, and aims to deal with all cases that require medical investigation as quickly as possible.</p> more like this
