answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/03/2023 answer text <p>As set out in its Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Strategy, the Government expects ten times more public chargepoints to be installed across the UK by the end of the decade, bringing the number to over 300,000 by 2030.</p><p /><p>The Government expects to see a market-led roll-out for the majority of chargepoints with hundreds of millions of pounds being committed and deployment accelerating. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/03/2023 answer text <p>As the transition to electric vehicles (EV) accelerates, it is important that public chargepoints are easily accessible to all those who need to use them, including disabled and elderly people. Working alongside the disability charity, Motability, the Government commissioned the British Standards Institution (BSI) to produce a new accessibility standard.</p><p> </p><p>A world first of its kind, the Publicly Available Standard (PAS) 1899 was published on 11 October 2022, and lays out best practice on designing and installing accessible public EV chargepoints.</p><p> </p><p>Compliance with PAS 1899 is voluntary. However, the Government is actively encouraging relevant parties to adopt its specifications, building on improvements already being made in the sector. In addition to taking steps such as providing an inclusive and accessible recruitment process, the Department provides leadership in supporting the scheme, reports on disability, mental health and wellbeing and has undergone a rigorous validation process. The grant pays for 35% of the purchase price for selected models, up to a maximum of £500 for motorcycles and £150 for mopeds.</p><p> </p><p>The Government continues to work with the UK industry to grow the motorcycle sector and ensure it has a prosperous future in the UK. In February 2022, the Motorcycle Industry Association and Zemo Partnership published a government-commissioned action plan, “Realising the Full Potential of Zero Emission Powered Light Vehicles”, to support the take-up of zero emission L-category vehicles. Regarding colour vision regulations, this means being able to assess the extent of colour vision deficiency accurately, and calibrating requirements to maintain safety standards without unnecessarily penalising those with relatively mild colour vision deficiency. The CAA’s view as regulator is that the Colour Assessment and Diagnosis (CAD) test currently used provides the most accurate and reproducible assessment of an applicant’s class of colour vision.
