<p>The Department’s position is to follow the timetable for introduction of the requirement to fit these devices agreed across Europe. Manufacturers of electric and hybrid-electric buses, and those who procure such vehicles, may choose to fit an artificial sound generating device provided it complies with relevant legislation.</p>
