The ULEZ is one of The Mayor of London’s proposals to improve London’s air quality, and it is for him to manage any incentives relating to the scheme.</p><p>The Government is committed to increasing cycling and walking, and has a wide range of policies in place to support this. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/04/2019 answer text <p>The situation in which pavements are shared by cyclists and pedestrians is known as shared use rather than shared space. The Department for Transport issued guidance on the development of these schemes in ‘Local Transport Note 1/12: Shared use routes for pedestrians and cyclists’. It stresses the importance of high quality, inclusive design which addresses the needs of all users, including older people and disabled people.
