answer text <p>The environmental performance of LPG in vehicles has been analysed using the Transport Energy Model (TEM), developed by the Department. The model estimates energy consumption and environmental emissions for road transport technology options over the period to 2050, and compares various vehicle powertrain technology and fuel options for cars, vans, buses and HGVs.</p><p> </p><p>The output of this analysis will be included in the zero emission road transport strategy, which is due to be published shortly.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Secretary of State for Transport met with his Egyptian counterpart in November to discuss aviation security and the high level of engagement between our two nations. Government officials continue to work in partnership in a spirit of cooperation, and are grateful for Egypt's close engagement. UK aviation security experts continue to work closely with their Egyptian counterparts, sharing their expertise in establishing effective security arrangements. However, it is long standing government policy not to comment in detail on security matters. The Government continues to keep the situation under regular review and we hope that we may be in a position to resume direct flights when the circumstances are right.</p> more like this

answer text <p>More than 98% of vehicles on the road are properly licensed, meaning that the vast majority of drivers comply with the law. It has never been easier to license a vehicle and motorists can also spread payments across the year using direct debit.</p><p> </p><p>The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) operates a comprehensive package of measures designed to tackle vehicle excise duty evasion. These include reminder letters, fixed penalties, court prosecutions, the use of automatic number plate recognition cameras and the wheelclamping and removal of unlicensed vehicles.</p><p> </p><p>The number of unlicensed vehicles clamped or impounded has increased to around 10,000 every month and the DVLA will continue to take action against those who do not pay. A major national advertising campaign has also recently been launched which targets vehicle excise duty evaders.</p> more like this

This facility was introduced in October 2014 and payments can be made monthly, every six months or annually. More than 98% of vehicles are properly licensed and around 30% of customers pay for their vehicle excise duty by direct debit. answer text <p>Since 2010, local authorities have benefited from funding for sustainable transport initiatives, including cycling and walking, through the Local Sustainable Transport Fund and its successors the Sustainable Travel Transition Year and Access Fund. Details of the areas where DfT funding has been allocated can be found at: <a href="http://maps.dft.gov.uk/funding-for-sustainable-travel/index.html" target="_blank">http://maps.dft.gov.uk/funding-for-sustainable-travel/index.html</a></p><p> </p><p>Southampton received £4.947m from the Local Sustainable Transport Fund between 2011 and 2016 for a range of measures to reduce carbon which included walking and cycling initiatives, and will receive a further £2.3m from the Access Fund between 2017 and 2020.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, Southampton Central station benefited from a £150,000 cycle-rail grant in 2012/13, and the Department has funded around £220,000 worth of Bikeability cycle training in Southampton over the last five years.</p><p> </p><p>Southampton has also received funding over the last five years through the Government’s Local Growth Fund, Highways Maintenance Block and the Integrated Transport Block. As this funding is not ring-fenced, however, the Department does not hold data on how much of it may have been spent on cycling networks.</p><p> </p>
