The Faraday Institute is the independent research vehicle for the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund’s £246m Faraday Battery Challenge. Improving our understanding of the performance of lithium ion batteries over time in electrified vehicles is an important part of the Faraday Institute’s role. That is why of the Institute’s four ‘Fast Start’ projects, with up to £42 million in funding, two will look at improving our understanding of batteries: extending battery life and battery systems modelling.</p><p> </p><p>In order for a car to be eligible to receive the Government’s Plug-in Car Grant of up to £4,500 off the cost of a new vehicle, the manufacturer must provide a minimum five year warranty on the battery and electric drive train, and extra evidence of battery performance to show reasonable performance after three years of use.</p> answering member constituency Hereford and South Herefordshire answering member printed Jesse Norman question first answered 07/09/2018 11:06:40 answering member 3991 label Biography information for Jesse Norman

The facility is one of several high temperature incinerators in the UK capable of incinerating large quantities of such waste. In particular, these include the Drones Industry Action Group, managed by the Department for Business, Energy &amp; Industrial Strategy, which meets quarterly and facilitates discussion on key issues between the Government and the UK drones industry.</p><p> </p><p>Recent changes to the Air Navigation Order were developed in response to the Government’s consultation on drones, which ran from December 2016 to March 2017. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/09/2018 answer text <p>The Home Office is helping the police to respond to changing demand with a £460 million increase in overall funding in 2018/19, including increased funding to tackle counter-terrorism and for local policing through the Council Tax precept. The Home Office is currently consulting on proposals to extend stop and search powers in order to consider how effective police powers could be to enforce new or proposed laws such as drones and laser pointers.</p><p> </p><p>In Addition, the Home Secretary has announced that police resources will be a priority for the Home Office at the next Spending Review. To improve enforcement, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been agreed between the Department for Transport, the Civil Aviation Authority, the Home Office and the Police with regards to the policing and monitoring of drones.
