answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/09/2018 answer text <p>To date, our progress in implementing policy in line with Goal 5 of the Sustainable Development Goals has led to a higher percentage of women on FTSE boards than ever before, ground-breaking regulations to close the gender pay gap, tax-free childcare entitlements, the introduction of shared parental leave, and an increase in flexible working opportunities. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/09/2018 answer text <p>Indicator 5.c.1 is a non-statistical global indicator to monitor global progress toward Target 5c, which calls on Member States to ‘adopt and strengthen sound policies and enforceable legislation for the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls at all levels’.</p><p> </p><p>The UK’s Office for National Statistics is responsible for providing UK data on the global indicators to the UN for its annual progress reporting.</p><p> </p><p>This Government has adopted many programmes and policies that address Target 5c, including the introduction of gender pay gap reporting regulations, increasing flexible working opportunities, promoting shared parental leave and implementing a strategy to prevent violence against women and girls.</p><p> </p><p>The Government will be reporting on its progress towards implementing Sustainable Development Goal 5 as part of the UK’s Voluntary National Review in 2019.</p> answering member constituency Louth and Horncastle answering member printed Victoria Atkins question first answered 07/09/2018 15:06:42 answering member 4399 label Biography information for Victoria Atkins

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/07/2018 answer text <p>This Government is committed to gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, and we are one of the countries who pushed hard for a standalone Sustainable Development Goal on gender.</p><p> </p><p>The Minister for Women and Equalities regularly meets with ministerial colleagues to promote the development of domestic policy that is consistent with our commitments under Sustainable Development Goal 5.</p><p> </p><p>Planning for the delivery of the Goals is embedded into the Single Departmental Plan for each government department. The promotion of SDG5, and other related targets, remains a priority for the Government both domestically and internationally.
