answer text
We are aware that the use of disposable vaping products which contain batteries has increased substantially in recent years and are considering the implications for the environment. As part of the review of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations, we will consult on policies aimed at driving up levels of separate collection of electric and electronic waste, including vaping devices, later this year. A separate consultation on batteries is also scheduled for later this year and is similarly looking to strengthen the collection of portable batteries, including those contained in vapes.
more like this

answer text
We are appalled at the prevalence of sexual and gender-based violence in Tigray. The Foreign Secretary has made sexual violence in conflict one of her top priorities. We are working to promote justice for survivors of sexual violence, to provide support to survivors and children born of conflict related sexual violence and to prevent sexual violence from occurring. We deployed one of the UK's Team of Experts to Ethiopia to investigate how to improve health and social services for survivors, identify how access to justice can be strengthened, and scale up the UK's response to conflict-related sexual violence. We are now implementing the expert's recommendations with partners in Ethiopia.

We have supported the Joint Investigation into human rights abuses and violations during the conflict, conducted by the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and we welcome the Ethiopian Government's creation of an Inter-Ministerial Taskforce to take forward recommendations of Joint Investigation report. At a special session of the Human Rights Council on 17 December 2021, we backed a resolution that created an International Commission of Experts to investigate allegations of violations in Ethiopia, including those of sexual violence. We urge all parties to engage with this Commission.

We call on all parties to the conflict to act decisively to cease all human rights violations, including the perpetration of conflict-related sexual violence.

answer text
The information requested is not held centrally. It is difficult to provide reliable estimates for small groups using the sources available.

The department publishes destinations data for pupils across the different phases of education, including those participating in apprenticeships, other further education, and higher education. However, the latest published data incorporating apprenticeships does not include breakdowns for Gypsy/Roma or travellers of Irish heritage as the sample sizes were too small to form a reliable estimate. For the same reason, this information cannot be produced from datasets held on young people not in employment, education or training.

The department will continue to review data from these sources.

The latest published destinations data for students in key stages 4 and 5 shows that of the 1005 pupils recorded as Gypsy/Roma as at the end of key stage 4 in 2014/15, 65% were in a sustained education or employment/training destination in 2015/16. In the same period, 130 students were recorded as travellers of Irish heritage, and 68% of them were in a sustained education or employment/training destination. In both cases, 4% were found to be participating in an apprenticeship in 2015/16.

Of the 105 pupils recorded as Gypsy/Roma as at the end of key stage 5 in 2014/15, 78% were in a sustained education or employment/training destination in 2015/16. In the same period, 20 students were recorded as travellers of Irish heritage, and 65% of them were in a sustained education or employment/training destination. 8% and 0% of these groups, respectively, were in apprenticeships in 2015/16.
