The NHS Constitution allows patients to be treated by an independent sector provider where available as part of their right to choose. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/05/2023 answer text <p>Having met our target to virtually eliminate long waits of two years or more for elective procedures in July 2022, we have now also significantly reduced waits of over 18 months, in line with the targets set out in the elective recovery plan.</p><p> </p><p>As a result of the pandemic, the number of patients waiting over 18 months peaked at almost 125,000 in September 2021. These surveys cover a wide range of structural assessments. With particular reference to reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC), the National Health Service has been surveying sites and undertaking RAAC mitigation work since 2019 and has had an active national remediation programme since 2021 to mitigate and monitor the risks posed by RAAC across the NHS estate.</p><p>NHS England has also issued guidance for trusts nationally on how to establish the presence of RAAC in their estate. There is ongoing engagement with trusts on a national and regional level to ensure RAAC is identified across the NHS estate. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/06/2020 answer text <p>The Animal and Plant Health Agency regularly assess the changing global animal disease presence and its potential risk to the UK. The most recent assessments for African swine fever (ASF) were published on the Gov.uk website in March 2020 (for Europe) and May 2020 (for South East Asia and Oceania). The UK remains at medium risk for the entry of contaminated or infected products. The risk of exposure to the UK pig population is highly dependent on the level of biosecurity on individual pig premises and is low.</p><p> </p><p>In terms of mitigating that risk, EU safeguard measures restrict the commercial trade of pork and pork products from regions that are affected by ASF so these cannot be traded with the UK. All countries outside of the EU who are currently approved to trade in pork and pork products with the UK are free of ASF. The import of pork products from non-approved countries is illegal. Defra continues to work closely with Border Force officials to crack down on illegally imported meat and UK Border officials target and search freight, passengers and luggage at the border and will seize and destroy illegally imported meat products. Decisions on approval and authorisation are based on an assessment of the risks posed to people and to the environment. Such decisions are devolved and so are taken by the relevant government or by the Health and Safety Executive on its behalf.</p><p> </p><p>The active substance 1,4-dimethylnaphthalene (1,4-DMN) is approved but at present there is no authorised product. The UK Government and the Devolved Administrations have granted an emergency authorisation allowing the limited and controlled use until 31 May 2021 of a 1,4-DMN product to prevent sprouting of harvested potatoes. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/04/2023 answer text <p>The UK has a higher VAT registration threshold than any EU member state and second highest in the OECD – which keeps the majority of UK businesses out of VAT altogether.</p><p>The Government have also put in place a generous package of Business Rates relief worth £13.6 billion.</p><p>The Government has demonstrated its long-standing commitment to supporting small businesses. At Spring Budget, the Government confirmed that, from April 2023, the Small Profits Rate will mean 70 per cent of businesses will see no increase in Corporation Tax this April. In fact, the UK has the lowest corporation tax rate in the G7.</p><p>In addition, the Government continues to invest in the 38 Growth Hubs providing businesses across England with free one-to-one support and advice. Growth Hubs offer a triage, diagnostic and signposting service to make sure that all businesses, whatever their size or sector, know what help is available and can access the most appropriate support.</p><p>While the Government keeps all taxes under review, it was announced at Autumn Budget 2022 that the VAT threshold will be maintained at its current level of £85,000 until 31 March 2026.</p> answering member constituency Louth and Horncastle answering member printed Victoria Atkins question first answered 26/04/2023 15:08:15 answering member 4399 label Biography information for Victoria Atkins

Any business with turnover of £85,000 or less does not have to register for VAT.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>At Autumn Statement 2022 the Government announced that the VAT Registration Threshold would be frozen for two further years until March 2026.
