star this property answer text <p>The Department for Transport is running trials of rental e-scooters to assess their safety and wider impacts and has in place a national monitoring and evaluation programme. A full set of findings on rental e-scooters from this evaluation will be included in the final report due later in 2022.</p><p> </p><p>The evidence gathered during the trials will inform whether e-scooters should be legalised in the future, and how we can ensure their use is as safe as possible. Until we have that evidence we cannot commit to a legislative timetable.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Active Travel Fund has supported a wide range of walking and cycling schemes in both urban and rural areas in the last two financial years. It is for authorities to determine what schemes to promote and support in their areas. Allocations to local authorities have been published at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/emergency-active-travel-fund-local-transport-authority-allocations/emergency-active-travel-fund-total-indicative-allocations" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/emergency-active-travel-fund-local-transport-authority-allocations/emergency-active-travel-fund-total-indicative-allocations</a>.</p><p>The Department announced another £200 million of funding for active travel schemes on 14 May 2022, which included £35 million to improve the quality, safety and accessibility of the National Cycle Network. Much of this network is in rural areas.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Provisions to remove the requirements to surrender a driving licence from fixed penalty, conditional offer and court processes for road traffic offences are included in the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022 (PCSCA).</p><p>The Act received Royal Assent on 28 April 2022 and the relevant provisions will commence via regulations later this year. The police, court services and Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency are making the necessary changes to systems and processes to accommodate the change in the law.</p><p> </p> more like this
