Within Government, The Department for Transport has responsibility regarding emissions standards in vehicle and technology manufacturing and distribution. Defra and the Department for Transport work together through the Joint Air Quality Unit to support local authorities to help deliver the Government’s Air Quality plan on roadside concentration of nitrogen oxides.
