Since 2013, applications for legal aid do not routinely request this information as it is not relevant to legal aid provision in all categories of case. Therefore the data you request is not available.</p><p> </p><p>People seeking protective injunctions, like restraining orders, remain eligible for legal aid. Legal aid also remains available in private family cases that involve domestic violence. A health assessment is undertaken for all prisoners on reception into custody to assess their risk of suicide or self-harm. The prisoner’s Person Escort Record form, which is available to staff on reception, may provide information about concerns of self-harm. When a prisoner is identified as being at-risk of self-harm, they are managed through the Assessment, Care in Custody and Teamwork (ACCT) process, which is a prisoner-centred, flexible care planning system.</p><p> </p><p>All relevant risk information is recorded on the Prison NOMIS case management system and on healthcare IT systems where appropriate. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/10/2014 answer text <p>Drug offending is serious in itself and drug abuse also underlies a huge volume of acquisitive and violent crime which can blight communities.</p><p> </p><p>Parliament sets the maximum penalty for an offence at a level to deal with the worst possible case. This means that there will, rightly, be few cases where the maximum sentence is imposed. The last meeting took place in June 2014.</p><p> </p><p>I am satisfied that the OPG is performing effectively. During 2013/14 they introduced an online tool for making lasting powers of attorney (LPA), reduced the statutory waiting and objection periods for LPA and, by introducing end-to-end case management, have streamlined the way in which they process applications. Funding for this support beyond March 2015 is currently subject to a competitive commissioning process.</p><p> </p><p>In developing the requirement specification for the service from April 2015, the Ministry of Justice took the views of a number of organisations working in the field of support for victims and witnesses. This included NSPCC, who provided valuable input drawn from practitioner experience in supporting young witnesses.</p><p> </p><p>The requirements of the service include that witnesses should receive tailored support which meets their individual needs, and there is particular emphasis on ensuring the service meets the needs of young, vulnerable and intimidated witnesses. Support for young witnesses includes the provision of a Young Witness Pack, age appropriate explanations about court proceedings, and where needed support at pre-trial visits and home visits. The performance of Magistrates’ Courts depends upon the performance of the criminal justice system as a whole, and HMCTS works closely with other agencies in the criminal justice system, including the police and the CPS, in order to keep delays to a minimum.</p><p> </p><p>My officials have had regular discussions with magistrates. The Chief Executive and HMCTS Directors meet on a quarterly basis with the Chairs of the Magistrates’ Association (MA) and the National Bench Chairmen’s Forum (NBCF) to discuss various issues, which include performance in the Magistrates’ Courts. The performance of the Magistrates’ Courts has also recently been discussed at meetings of the Senior Presiding Judge’s Magistrates’ Liaison Group (MLG) the membership of which includes both the judiciary and senior officials from HMCTS. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/10/2014 answer text <p>Magistrates’ courts hear criminal, civil and enforcement cases. Family matters are dealt with under the jurisdiction of the Single Family Court, although they may be heard in a magistrates’ courts building. Criminal, civil and enforcement matters are recorded on the Libra case management system and total hearings for those are provided in the attached table.
