star this property answer text <p>The independent Office for National Statistics (ONS) use the Labour Force Survey (LFS) to provide estimates for the number of people in employment on contracts that do not guarantee minimum hours (known as ‘zero hours’ contracts’). The ONS therefore advise not to compare pre- and post-2013 data.</p><p> </p><p>Data for England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales and the English regions has been published every six months by ONS for since 2016. However, because the data is drawn from a survey, many of these sub-UK breakdowns are considered too unreliable for practical purposes. star this property answer text <p>Automatic enrolment has achieved a quiet revolution through getting employees into the habit of pension saving, and reversing the decline in workplace pension participation in the decade prior to these reforms. Since automatic enrolment started in 2012 participation rates have been transformed with 87% of eligible employees saving into a workplace pension in 2018, up from 55% in 2012.</p><p> </p><p>The Department does not hold data for individual constituencies in relation to opt outs or the number of individuals who have saved above the automatic enrolment minimum contribution level. star this property answer text <p>All Healthcare Professionals who undertake Work Capability Assessments are registered healthcare professionals, doctors, nurses, physiotherapists or occupational therapists, with a minimum of two years broad - based post registration experience, although this can be waived in exceptional circumstances by the Department. They are subject to a thorough recruitment process that includes formal interview and all are required to pass a competency based assessment. Once recruited, they undertake a comprehensive new entrant training programme.</p><p> </p><p>All healthcare professionals then have 100% of their work audited until it is demonstrated that their work meets the required standards. At this stage, the Assessment Provider make a recommendation to the DWP that the healthcare professional should be formally approved. All practitioners are then subject to a programme of case reviews and audit.</p><p> </p><p>They are not required by DWP to hold specialist qualifications or specific previous experience in mental health conditions. As part of the induction Healthcare Professionals receive training in mental health issues and are required to read evidence based protocols on mental health conditions. In addition, they are required to engage in a programme of continuing medical education which includes modules on mental health conditions.</p><p> </p><p>The Work Capability Assessment is a functional assessment which focuses not on a claimant’s condition but on the functional effects of that condition. It looks at a range of different activities related to physical, mental, cognitive and intellectual functions and certain additional criteria that do not directly measure function to determine capability for work.</p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p>The safety and well-being of claimants is paramount. From the outset of the contract, we have required the Centre for Health and Disability Assessments (CHDA), who conduct Work Capability Assessments, to have processes in place to protect claimants requiring functional assessments. All Healthcare Professionals must meet standards set by their regulatory bodies</p><p> </p><p>While the supplier is not required to have a general Safeguarding Policy, one has been developed to complement existing processes. As stated in the response to question 219317, a copy of the CHDA safeguarding policy will be placed in the Library.</p> more like this
