answer text <p>DFID funds activities to address land degradation, including the Great Green Wall across the Sahel, through our support to the Global Environment Facility (GEF). Total UK support to the GEF between 2014 and 2018 was £210 million, with DFID providing £168 million and Defra providing £42 million of this amount. Over £4.8 million has been spent by the GEF on the Great Green Wall initiative, 9 percent or £432 thousand of this is funded by the UK contributions. The World Bank and the EU have also funded projects in line with the Great Green Wall, and the UK funds these multilateral organisations.</p> more like this

DFID has provided £56 million to build resilience and adaptation to climate extremes and disasters in the Sahel since 2013.
