Prior to this, the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform published tables showing the number of businesses registered for VAT.</p><p> </p><p>The estimates for a) City of York/ York Central constituency and b) York unitary authority for each year from 2005 are shown in the tables attached.</p> more like this

As the measure came into effect from 1 January 2015, HM Revenue and Customs does not currently hold the necessary information collated in a way that would be able to generate the requested estimates.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Protecting women from violence is a key priority for the Government. We have strengthened the law in this area through the introduction of the Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme and a number of new offences to protect victims. The annual Violence against Women and Girls report published by the Crown Prosecution Service on 25 June shows the number of convictions for domestic abuse have risen to their highest volume ever.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Marriage Allowance allows a basic rate taxpayer to transfer 10 per cent of their personal allowance to their spouse or civil partner. Only the transferor can make this transfer to their spouse or partner, and they can revoke this transfer at any point they wish.</p><p> </p> more like this

The FPC has taken action to ensure against a significant rise in highly indebted households.</p><p> </p><p>Household debt-to-income has increased marginally from 141% two years ago to 145% in Q1 2017. star this property answer text <p>Education provided by further education (FE) colleges is either outside the scope of VAT or classified as ‘exempt’ under the VAT Act 1994. This means that FE colleges do not apply VAT on the education they provide to their pupils.</p><p> </p><p>Under European law, it is not possible to recover tax incurred on activities outside the scope of VAT or in the course of making ‘exempt’ supplies. Our future relationship with the EU, including on VAT, is subject to negotiation and any future decisions on VAT will continue to be taken in line with the normal Budget process.</p> more like this

Whether a payment to an employee ‘in training’ qualifies for an Income Tax and National Insurance exemption will depend on the facts of each case. HM Revenue and Customs’ <em>Statement of Practice 4 1986</em> sets out the circumstances when a payment by an employer to an employee can be exempted from a charge to tax. These rules apply equally to all employers - they are not specific to the NHS.</p> more like this
