The format of the conference can only be decided once a new Afghan Government is in place. However as a co-host, the UK is planning to facilitate opportunities for civil society to influence and shape the discussions and outcomes of the conference, both before and during the event itself. Almost 35,000 people have now been able to buy materials to repair their homes. There is still more to do, but this mechanism is a step in the right direction. This will provide an estimated 660,000 vulnerable people with items such as warm clothing, thermal blankets, mattresses, stoves, cash/vouchers and shelter support. However due to our current financial and management information systems we are unable to report on the specific interventions requested without incurring disproportionate cost.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Increasingly the Global Fund is the main financing mechanism for the UK’s support to TB and HIV. It would therefore not have been appropriate for DFID to place a copy of it in the Library of the House, although my previous answer did make clear that the Noble Lord could obtain a copy of the document by requesting it from the TCI Government.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Freedom of Information requests cover documents held by Her Majesty’s Government.
