Through the International Climate Fund (ICF) the UK government is providing significant investment to help improve water security and support sustainable growth to reduce poverty. The ICF is jointly managed by DFID, the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/11/2015 answer text <p>Through the International Climate Fund (ICF) the UK government is providing significant investment to help improve water security and support sustainable growth to reduce poverty.</p><br /><p>For example, a UK-funded programme in South Asia is enabling seven countries to manage their shared water resources more effectively and to reduce the risk of conflict. This will help improve the lives of the 700 million people living beside the great Himalayan Rivers of the Indus, Ganges and Brahmaputra.</p><br /><p>Last month the Prime Minister announced that UK climate funding will increase by at least 50% over the next five years. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/02/2020 answer text <p>The Department has made no such assessment.</p><p> </p><p>Ambulances on emergency business are already generally allowed to use bus lanes through an exemption in the underlying Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) which creates a bus lane. Local authorities can extend this to ambulances on non-emergency business if they wish, but will need to consider whether the vehicles are easily identifiable for enforcement purposes, and the impact on the operation of the lane for buses.</p><p> </p><p>Local authorities are best placed to judge how best to operate bus lanes on their road networks. Bus lanes are provided to give buses priority over other traffic, particularly at congested times of day, and to provide bus passengers with a more reliable service. This funding has enabled agencies to support children who have been separated from their families, to provide services for girls and boys who have suffered sexual and gender-based violence, to reduce malnutrition, and give children access to education and training. DFID monitors needs in CAR and reviews regularly the strategy and level of support it provides. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/02/2020 answer text <p>Local Highway Authorities are responsible for the maintenance and management of the local road network within their areas and this includes measures to help reduce road congestion. It is the for the Leaders and Mayors of local and Combined Authorities to decide how best to manage the relative mix of traffic in their cities.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is tackling congestion across England through investment in roads, public transport and active travel. The £2.5bn Transforming Cities Fund is empowering 18 city regions to deliver improvements to commuter connectivity which will provide faster, more reliable transport links such as new light rail, bus or cycling infrastructure. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/02/2020 answer text <p>The Prime Minister announced last week that we are consulting on bringing forward the end to the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans to 2035, or earlier if a faster transition appears feasible, as well as including hybrids for the first time. We are consulting on the Committee on Climate Change recommendation that any new vehicles sold after the phase out date must be zero emission at the tailpipe. We understand the concerns of low volume manufacturers and we will be engaging with stakeholders on a package of support allowing us to seize the opportunities and lead the world in the shift to zero emission vehicles.</p><p> </p><p>As part of this consultation, we are asking what the accompanying package of support will need to be to enable the transition and minimise the impacts on businesses and consumers across the UK, building on the significant demand and supply side measures already in place.
