This recommends that road works are limited to a maximum of 6km (around 3 and ¾ miles), although the adoption of longer lengths of road works is permissible providing they do not create unacceptable impacts. Where longer lengths of road works are adopted, site specific risk assessments are required to identify the safe maximum length. While performance has improved recently, the new Transport Secretary understands passengers need the certainty of reliable journeys, and is determined to work with industry to improve performance.</p><p> </p><p>Official statistics on passenger rail reliability and performance are published by the Office of Rail and Road (ORR).</p><p> </p><p>Cancellations and Significant Lateness (CaSL) measures the proportion of trains arriving at the final destination more than 30 minutes after the planned timetable or is cancelled either in full or in part.</p><p> </p><p>The Public Performance Measure (PPM) is defined as the percentage of trains arriving at the final destination within five minutes of the planned timetable for London and South East, Regional and Scotland operators, or within ten minutes for the Long Distance operators.</p><p> </p><p>Both PPM and CaSL measures reflect punctuality and reliability at the final destination, rather than at each station stop. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/02/2020 answer text <p>We are currently investing nearly £1.5bn‎ between April 2015 and March 2021, with grants available for plug in vehicles, as well schemes to support charge point infrastructure at homes and workplaces and on residential streets. Government and industry have supported the installation of over 17,000 devices providing over 24,000 publicly available chargepoints. This includes over 2,400 rapid chargepoints – one of the largest networks in Europe. Our grant schemes and our £400m public-private Charging Infrastructure Investment Fund will see thousands more electric vehicle chargepoints installed across the UK. The first £70 million of the Charging Infrastructure Investment Fund will create 3,000 new rapid chargepoints, more than doubling the number of rapid chargepoints across the UK by 2024. Along with the private sector, the Government will invest £1 billion in charging infrastructure – making sure that everyone is within 30 miles of a rapid charging station. Purchasers of electric vehicles also benefit from lower Vehicle Excise Duty and company car tax rates from April.
