We will bring forward our winter plan for mental health and wellbeing in due course, outlining the support available over the winter period.</p><p>We have published ‘Guidance for parents and carers on supporting children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic’ on GOV.UK and Every Mind Matters. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/01/2020 answer text <p>NHS England is currently working nationally with 12 pilot sites to test the feasibility of delivering a four-week waiting time for access to National Health Service mental health support. Delivering and maintaining a waiting time across the large and complex children and young people’s mental health pathway is a challenge, and we are proceeding carefully so as not to establish any perverse incentives.</p><p> </p><p>The pilots will test not only what it takes to achieve and maintain a four-week waiting time, but also how best to define and measure this access to specialist children and young people’s mental health services.</p><p> </p><p>The agreed pilots end in 2020/21. Results will then be evaluated. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/07/2021 answer text <p>Under the Primary Care Network (PCN) Direct Enhanced Services, networks are able to recruit new roles to expand their care team with 100% reimbursement through the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme. From April 2021, PCNs have been able to recruit mental health practitioners through the Scheme.</p><p> </p><p>The Mental Health Recovery Action Plan aims to respond to the impact of the pandemic on the mental health of the public, specifically targeting groups which have been most impacted including those with severe mental illness, including young people. This is in addition to the £2.3 billion invested in mental health services by 2023-24.</p><p> </p><p>General practitioners are responsible for ensuring their own clinical knowledge remains up-to-date and for identifying learning needs as part of their continuing professional development. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/10/2020 answer text <p>We are introducing two waiting times for children and young people by the end of 2020/21: for 95% of children (up to 19 years old) with eating disorders to receive treatment within a week for urgent cases and four weeks for routine cases, and for 60% of patients of all ages experiencing a first episode of psychosis to receive treatment within two weeks of referral.</p><p>The NHS Long Term Plan commits to an additional 345,000 children and young people in England accessing mental health support via National Health Service-funded mental health services and schools- and college-based mental health support teams each year by 2023/24</p><p>We are also piloting a four-week waiting time for children and young people’s mental health services in 12 areas to inform the development of a new national access and waiting times standard.</p><p>Where a local NHS children and young people’s specialist mental health service rejects a referral, the young person and/or their carers should be signposted to appropriate support elsewhere. On 8 September, the Government launched a mental wellbeing campaign for children and young people. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/10/2020 answer text <p>NHS England and NHS Improvement are working closely with black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) experts by experience, health professionals, voluntary, community and social enterprise sector partners and others to support rapid knowledge and information sharing to encourage timely access to National Health Service mental health services, and just as importantly, good BAME experiences within those services.</p><p>The Government has also provided £9.2 million of additional funding for mental health charities to support adults and children. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/10/2020 answer text <p>We have made good progress on, and remain committed to, carrying out the Green Paper’s core proposals.</p><p>In 2018 we announced the first 25 trailblazer sites delivering 59 mental health support teams (MHSTs). Rotherham is one of the first 25 trailblazer sites. The first MHSTs started to become operational in early 2020.</p><p>In July 2019, NHS England confirmed a further 57 areas, developing 123 new MHSTs; a further 104 teams have been commissioned and will begin training in 2020/21.</p><p>Twelve of the first 25 trailblazer sites, including Rotherham, are also testing four-week waiting times. However, there are two waiting time standards which apply to specific areas. The first standard is for young people’s eating disorder services, which is that urgent cases should be seen within one week and non-urgent cases within four weeks. The latest data (for quarter 4 of 2018/19) shows that 80.6 % of children and young people with eating disorders were seen within one week (urgent) and 82.4 % of children and young people with eating disorders were seen within four weeks (routine).</p><p>The second standard is for first episode of psychosis, where a patient should be seen within two weeks.
