The Minister for Africa tweeted his condolences on 21 January and echoed President Buhari's condemnation of this senseless killing. While we have not made representations to the Government of Nigeria about this specific incident, we regularly engage the Government on tackling the terrorist threat in North East Nigeria. Most recently, the Prime Minister raised his concerns about increasing levels of violence in North East Nigeria with President Buhari at the UK-Africa Investment Summit on 20 January. I refer to the response by the former Minister for the Commonwealth and UN to HL 6160 (3 April). Without further evidence we see no basis on which to raise this at the UN Security Council at this time. Existing UN and EU sanctions against the DPRK are based on UN Security Council Resolutions that prohibit the development of the DPRK's nuclear and ballistic missile programmes. Both EU and UN sanctions target goods and activities that support those programmes, and individuals and organisations who have acted in breach of these Resolutions.</p><p>We believe these sanctions have played a role in slowing down the progress of the DPRK's nuclear and missile programmes. We are working with the Government of Iraq and local authorities to improve the situation on the ground so that it is safe for people to return. That includes clearing Daesh from all remaining territory and addressing the threat from Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). The UK is supporting the UN Development Programme and the UN Mine Action Service, who facilitate stabilisation projects in the Ninevah Plains and other affected regions in Iraq.</p><p>The UK is providing over £15 million towards UN stabilisation efforts for areas liberated from Daesh, including for minority communities. This contributes to securing liberated areas and supporting the renovation of water facilities, power networks, clinics and schools. Over one million people have already returned to their homes across Iraq. Through the UK's Conflict, Security and Stability Fund we are supporting community cohesion, and encouraging reconciliation. The purpose of travel advice is to provide objective information and guidance to help British nationals make informed decisions regarding foreign travel. Our travel advice for North Korea has noted the arrest and detention of foreign visitors when these incidents have occurred. We have made a further factual update to our travel advice for North Korea that reflect the details of Mr Warmbier's case.</p><p>The British Embassy in Pyongyang has contact with a number of tour operators as part of our consular work in North Korea. Any decision on offering to co-host events at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics would be a matter for the government of the Republic of Korea to consider.
