Our response is however threat agnostic. <br>It is a matter for the Police to determine whether a crime has been committed and, where a crime has been committed, how it is classified. It is a long-standing tradition in this country that people are free to gather together and to demonstrate their views, provided that they do so within the law.</p><p>There is, of course, a balance to be struck. Protestors’ rights need to be balanced with the rights of others to go about their business. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/10/2015 answer text <p>The definition of affordable housing for planning purposes is set out in Annex 2 to the National Planning Policy Framework, which is shown below.</p><p>Affordable housing: Social rented, affordable rented and intermediate housing, provided to eligible households whose needs are not met by the market. Eligibility is determined with regard to local incomes and local house prices. Affordable housing should include provisions to remain at an affordable price for future eligible households or for the subsidy to be recycled for alternative affordable housing provision.</p><p>Social rented housing is owned by local authorities and private registered providers (as defined in section 80 of the Housing and Regeneration Act 2008), for which guideline target rents are determined through the national rent regime. It may also be owned by other persons and provided under equivalent rental arrangements to the above, as agreed with the local authority or with the Homes and Communities Agency.</p><p>Affordable rented housing is let by local authorities or private registered providers of social housing to households who are eligible for social rented housing. Affordable Rent is subject to rent controls that require a rent of no more than 80% of the local market rent (including service charges, where applicable).</p><p>Intermediate housing is homes for sale and rent provided at a cost above social rent, but below market levels subject to the criteria in the Affordable Housing definition above. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/02/2017 answer text <p>The shotgun licensing process is governed by the Firearms Act 1968. Under section 28 of the Firearms Act, the chief officer of police will only grant a shotgun certificate to individuals who, after investigation, are deemed not to pose a threat to public safety or to the peace.</p><p> </p><p>Extensive checks are carried out on every applicant for a shotgun certificate, and are taken into account by the chief officer in their assessment of suitability. In respect of drones available to the public, it is vital that drones are operated safely and responsibly, and the use of drones for criminal purposes is something Government takes very seriously.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is currently consulting on the future safe use of drones, including proposals such as registration and making drones electronically identifiable and strengthening penalties for breaking the law. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/06/2018 answer text <p>The Government has not had any discussions with the Metropolitan Police Service in respect of this protest.</p><p>We are clear that the public have the right to peaceful protest, and that police forces should make reasonable contingencies within their budgets to cover the cost of these and other unexpected events in their area. Police and Crime Commissioners have the option to apply for funding through the Police Special Grant to assist with the cost of any significant events which might otherwise threaten the financial stability of the police force.</p><p>However, we also acknowledge that there are additional demands in policing the national capital and centre of Government, and provide the Metropolitan Police with additional funding called the National and International Capital City (NICC) Grant to help cover those costs.
