We have called on the Government of Sudan to allow the United Nations-African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) unhindered access so that the UN can conduct a full investigation into these alleged appalling crimes. We note that UNAMID was granted access to Tabit on 9 November, but are concerned by reports that their investigations took place under the close observation of Sudanese security officials. My officials have recently made representations to the Foreign Minister, urging the Government to respect the right to freedom of religion or belief including one's right to follow the religion or belief of choice. This right is enshrined in international human rights law as well as in Sudan's own 2005 Interim Constitution. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/11/2014 answer text <p>We are deeply concerned at reports of government aerial bombardments targeting civilian farms and agricultural production in South Kordofan and frequently raise our concerns about the ongoing conflict in the Two Areas directly with the Government of Sudan and through multilateral forums such as the UN Security Council discussions. In respect of South Sudan the UK has been at the forefront of an effective EU arms embargo aimed at stopping the proliferation of arms across the region. The UK continues to work with partners to enforce this embargo.
