	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/04/2018 answer text <p>No recent assessment has been made by this Department of the effectiveness of Government programmes in specifically assisting low-income families with autistic children.</p><p> </p><p>The special educational needs and disability (SEND) reforms in the Children’s and Families Act 2014 have brought benefits for all autistic children and young people and their families by providing for a system of support across education, health and social care to ensure that services are organised with the needs and preferences of the child and their family at the centre of the process.</p><p> </p><p>Reforms introduced by the Act include the publication of local offers of SEND services by local authorities, the introduction of streamlined education, health and care needs assessments and Education, Health and Care Plans, which set out in one place the support from education, health and care services children and young people will receive.</p><p> </p><p>Since May 2016, Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission have been inspecting local areas on their effectiveness in fulfilling their new duties for children with SEND. All 152 local areas in England will be inspected over a period of five years.</p><p> </p><p>We have included autism indicators on diagnosis and post-diagnostic outcomes in the Mental Health Services Dataset, with data collected from 1 April 2018. We are clear that we need to get the funding right to ensure that providers are funded on a fair and sustainable basis. Our recent consultation set out our proposals to allocate our record level of funding fairly and transparently, with the maximum amount reaching providers. We will publish our response this autumn.</p><p> </p><p>We have recently made a substantial capital investment to support the creation of new 30 hours childcare places and our recently closed capital bid round made £40million available to local authorities working in partnership with providers in their area. We intend to announce successful project bids in mid-December 2016. We plan to consult the sector on the future of nursery schools in further detail, including what happens after this two year period, in due course.</p><p> </p><p>Children’s centres are funded through the Business Rates Retention Scheme and local authorities have the freedom to decide what services are appropriate to meet local needs. Our early years funding proposals, on which we recently consulted, are designed to maximise the funding that goes to the front-line, including children’s centres where they provide early education. The NIHR is speaking with the United Kingdom’s CFS/ME Research Collaborative and patient representatives about how best we can support a joined up approach to high quality research into this complex disorder.</p><p> </p><p>The NIHR welcomes funding applications for research into any aspect of human health, including CFS/ME; it is not usual practice to ring-fence funds for particular topics or conditions. The Child Arrangement Programme and Practice Direction 12J set out a strong and clear framework for use where domestic violence is alleged. All judges receive specific training on this framework. The Child Arrangements Programme and Practice Direction 12J set out a strong and clear framework where domestic violence is alleged. Judges can intervene to prevent inappropriate questions or have questions relayed. Practical protections, for example, protective screens, video links, separate waiting rooms and separate entrances are available where appropriate.
