	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/11/2018 answer text <p>The Department's consultation, “E10 petrol, consumer protection and fuel pump labelling”, included a call for evidence inviting stakeholders to contribute ideas on whether and how E10 could be introduced in a way which maximises the benefits of that fuel and ensures consumers are protected.</p><p> </p><p>The Department is carefully considering the responses submitted, including proposals for a mandate or scrappage scheme, and will respond to the call for evidence in due course. The information gathered in the call for evidence will help the Department to ensure that decision making on this important policy area is robust. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/12/2018 answer text <p>The cost benefit analysis published alongside amendments to the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) this year includes an assessment of the effects of E10 should it be deployed to meet increased targets for the supply of renewable fuel. Any future proposal to require the introduction of E10 would be subject to a full consultation with an accompanying impact assessment setting out the potential economic impacts.</p><p> </p><p>Most petrol vehicles in the UK can use E10, which is the test fuel for new vehicles. Member for Scunthorpe and representatives of the British bioethanol industry.</p><p> </p><p>The Government recognises that the domestic bioethanol industry has faced difficult trading conditions in recent months due to increased wheat prices and low bioethanol prices. In increasing targets under the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) in April, the Government made clear that moving to E10 fuel could make achieving the UK’s renewable energy targets easier and provide wider economic benefits.
