star this property answer text <p>In accordance with the Refugee Convention and our other international obligations, the UK carefully considers all asylum claims, so that no-one is returned to a country where they have a well-founded fear of persecution on account of their race, religion, nationality, membership of a social group or political opinion, or to a country where they would be at real risk of serious harm as a result, for example, of indiscriminate violence due to armed conflict. Those whose applications are rejected and whose appeal rights are exhausted are required to leave the UK and their removal will be enforced if they fail to do so.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The changes to the Immigration Rules laid before Parliament on 13 July prevent new international students studying at publicly-funded colleges from working. This change brings their rights into line with the existing rules for those studying at private colleges.</p><p>University students are not affected by this change and can work for 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during vacations. All students can continue to undertake work placements, provided they are an integral and assessed part of their course of study.</p> more like this
