star this property answer text <p>The Government takes the condition of local roads very seriously and is committed to maintaining and renewing the local road network. To this end, the Government will provide authorities with funding to help them fix up to one million more potholes across England in each year of this parliament. Confirmation of highways maintenance funding for future years is a matter for the forthcoming Budget and Spending Review.</p><p> </p><p>Highways maintenance funding typically covers a range of maintenance activities and local authorities are best placed to decide how to spend it according to local needs and priorities. Government expects authorities to invest in all parts of the highway including cycleways, bridges, and lighting columns, and not just the fixing of potholes.</p><p> </p> more like this

We are also hosting the International Investment Summit in October, to bring together global investors and regional leaders to advance opportunities for investment and growth across the country. Additional measures to improve the business environment and increase investment into the UK will be announced at the summit.</p><p>For the North West specifically, we will support delivery of the Local Growth Plans. star this property answer text <p>The Committee on the Grant of Honours, Decorations and Medals (known as the HD Committee) is the policy-making body for the honours system. It was established in 1939 to coordinate the award of medals to the Armed Forces. After World War Two, its remit expanded to providing advice to The Sovereign on general honours issues.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Its terms of reference are to consider general questions relative to the Grant of Honours, Decorations and Medals; to review the Scales of award, both civil and military, to consider questions of new awards, and changes in the conditions governing existing awards.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Information about its role, and its membership, is published on gov.uk. star this property answer text <p>The Government is committed to ensuring that everyone, regardless of background, has access to and benefits from quality sport and physical activity opportunities.</p><p>The Government provides the majority of funding for grassroots sport through our Arm’s Length Body, Sport England - which annually invests over £250 million in Exchequer and Lottery funding in areas of greatest need to tackle inactivity levels through community-led solutions.</p><p>Epping Forest has benefitted from £424,995 of investment under the Multi-Sport Grassroots Facilities Programme, the Park Tennis Court Renovation Programme, and the Swimming Pool Support Fund to date.</p><p>The Government is acting to support more people to get onto the pitch wherever they live through the delivery of £123 million UK-wide through the Multi-Sport Grassroots Facilities Programme in 2024/25.</p><p> </p> more like this
