star this property answer text <p>The Government recognises the challenge that empty properties on our high streets poses and the risk of the number of vacant units increasing due to the economic impacts of Covid-19.</p><p> </p><p>In order to mitigate against a rise in the number of vacant units, the Government has introduced a range of measures to protect businesses that are struggling to pay their rent due to Covid-19. We have extended the moratorium on commercial landlords’ right to forfeiture for the non-payment of rent to the 25 March 2022 and we will introduce legislation to help landlords and tenants resolve historic Covid-19 rent debt through binding arbitration if necessary.</p><p> </p><p>On 15 July, the Government published the Build Back Better High Streets Strategy focusing on five key priorities: breathing new life into empty buildings; supporting high street businesses; improving the public realm; creating safe and clean spaces; and celebrating pride in local communities.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department has provided guidance explaining that the children of any parent who works in a critical sector or are critical to the COVID-19 response will be prioritised for education provision regardless of the year group they are in:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision</a></p><p>It makes clear that, now that we have made progress in reducing the transmission of COVID-19, we are encouraging all eligible children to attend school (where there are no shielding concerns for the child or their household), even if parents are able to keep their children at home.</p><p>The Department has also published guidance for schools to prepare for wider opening of schools:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/preparing-for-the-wider-opening-of-schools-from-1-june" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/preparing-for-the-wider-opening-of-schools-from-1-june</a></p><p>The planning guide for primary schools explains that if schools cannot reach an arrangement that enables all eligible children to attend consistently, schools should focus first on continuing to provide places for priority groups of all year groups (children of critical workers and vulnerable children).</p><p>The advice to secondary schools on preparing for wider opening from the 15 June states that children of critical workers and vulnerable children in all year groups should be encouraged to attend school full-time.</p>

star this property answer text <p>DFID has a range of mechanisms which support girls from religious minorities. DFID liaises with the Pakistan Minorities Teachers Association to understand the needs of teachers and students from minority religions and address them through its various work streams. DFID supports a quota for children from minority religions for higher education scholarships through the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund. The Sindh Education Non State Actors Programme is also building partnerships with non-government schools which aim to reach children from marginalised and minority communities, with a special focus on girls.</p> more like this
