It also sets out provider obligations in adherence to legislation such as the Human Rights Act 1998, the Equality Act 2010 as well as duties such as under section 55 of the Border, Citizenship and Immigration Act 2009, and the children’s duty, to safeguard children from harm and promote their welfare.</p><p>The Home Office has published Key Performance Indicator statistics covering the contractual obligations accommodation providers and others working in the asylum sector are required to deliver. This has been done since April 2020. This data is available on <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/key-performance-indicators-kpis-for-governments-most-important-contracts#full-publication-update-history" target="_blank">.gov.uk</a>.</p><p>In all proposed accommodation sites, our accommodation providers work through a standardised regulatory checklist to verify the appropriateness of the site, including a detailed risk-assessment in advance of use. We work with our providers to carry out due diligence checks which include all relevant health and safety checks to ensure a site is able to operate in a legally compliant manner with all relevant standards met. We have also recently invested in ensuring these checks consider the mental and wellbeing aspects of asylum seekers and we are committed to working with all relevant providers to improve and build on the high service standards we expect.</p>

star this property answer text <p>Food options are provided which cater for special dietary, cultural or religious requirements, including additional food or meals as required to meet the nutritional needs of asylum seekers for whom three daily meals may be insufficient.</p><p>As our cohort are of mixed religions and faiths, we offer facilities on-site via a dedicated mixed faith prayers and reflection area as well as facilities to pray. If asylum seekers wish to visit a place of worship, we will of course assist them to do this by co-ordinating logistics and helping them to navigate their way through any public transport arrangements or suitable alternatives.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Across our estate there is an expectation that there will be mixed cohorts within our accommodation.</p><p>Some of our core Initial Accommodation may be configured to provide segregated areas specially for families and singles. Similarly in our Dispersed Accommodation there will be a mix of family properties and Houses of Multiple Occupation that are specifically for either males, females or mothers and babies.</p><p>Women with children who are in receipt of support are not required to share sleeping quarters with unrelated individuals of the opposite sex but may depending on the circumstances be placed in accommodation facilities that are used to house such individuals.</p><p>The Home Office has published the Asylum Support Contracts Safeguarding Framework at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/asylum-support-contracts-safeguarding-framework" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/asylum-support-contracts-safeguarding-framework</a>.</p><p>This framework sets out a joint, overarching approach, as well as the key controls and reporting mechanisms in place, across the AASC contracts, for safeguarding arrangements.</p>

star this property answer text <p>The Home Office publishes data on asylum seekers in receipt of support in the ‘<a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/immigration-statistics-quarterly-release" target="_blank">Immigration System Statistics Quarterly Release</a>’. Data on asylum seekers in receipt of support by accommodation type including hotels and other accommodation can be found in table Asy_D09 of the ‘<a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistical-data-sets/immigration-system-statistics-data-tables#asylum-support" target="_blank">asylum and resettlement detailed datasets’</a>.</p><p>Please note the data show a snapshot as at the last day of each quarter, rather than the number of asylum applications awaiting a decision over the entire quarter.</p><p>The latest data relates to as at 30 June 2023. Data as at 30 September 2023 will be published on 23 November 2023. Information on future Home Office statistical release dates can be found in the ‘<a href="https://www.gov.uk/search/research-and-statistics?keywords=immigration&amp;content_store_document_type=upcoming_statistics&amp;organisations%5B%5D=home-office&amp;order=relevance" target="_blank">Research and statistics calendar</a>’.</p>
