In 2016, the Department, Rail Delivery Group, Which?, and Transport Focus worked together to identify actions to improve fares and ticketing for passengers, culminating in the publication of the Action Plan for information on Rail Fares and Ticketing. In addition, at the start of this year the new Millennial railcard went on sale, allowing young people to save money on their travel. The fares rise for January 2016 will be based on July 2015’s RPI.
