answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/09/2023 answer text <p>Cutting National Health Service waiting lists, including for elective child health services, is one of the Government’s top priorities. To support elective recovery, the Government plans to spend more than £8 billion from 2022/23 to 2024/25 to help drive up and protect elective activity. Steps taken include increasing capacity, seeking alternative capacity in other trusts or the independent sector and engaging with patients to understand their choices.</p><p>We met our target to virtually eliminate long waits of two years or more for elective procedures in July 2022. We also virtually eliminated waits of over 18 months by the end of June 2023, a reduction of over 94% from the peak of 125,000 in September 2021. question text	To ask Her Majesty's Government what additional funds they plan to provide for the hospice sector to handle the rising death rate (1) during, and (2) beyond, the COVID-19 pandemic.

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/12/2020 answer text <p>Hospices have been provided over £150 million in additional funding to the hospice sector to date during the pandemic.</p><p>Alongside this, hospices have benefited from the financial support offered by HM Treasury to all charities, such as paying no business rates for their shops next year and applying for a Business Interruption Loan. Charities, alongside other sectors, can also access the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme and the replacement Job Support Scheme.</p><p>The Department regularly assesses the effect of the COVID-19 outbreak on the hospice sector, and through NHS England and NHS Improvement, are in regular discussions with stakeholders in the sector about the challenges they face. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/09/2018 answer text <p>I recognise concerns that have been raised by Noble Lords in relation to Operation Conifer, however it is for locally-elected Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) to decide how best to hold their forces to account, and PCCs have the powers to commission an inquiry, should they deem it appropriate.
